"Runner Up" - Walter Chrysler founds the Chrysler Corporation

Picture
Walter Chrysler teamed up with three engineers to design a revolutionary new car. They were designing cars that would be affordable, luxury cars that were the product of innovative, high quality engineering. This process took four years.

Although Chrysler is one of the "Big Three" American automobile manufacturers today, what is more important than the establishment of the Chrysler Corporation in 1925 is the invention of the Chrysler Six in 1924. This all new car featured two major innovations which included a light, powerful engine and the first time four-wheel hydraulic brakes were standard on a passenger car.
